There’s nothing like the pain of a wounded heart.
"heartbreaks are a roller coaster of emotions"
Whether triggered by the death of a loved one, a devastating break-up, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, shattered dreams related to health, work, finances or relationships heartbreaks are a roller coaster of emotions including (and not limited to) feelings of isolation, grief, despair, shame, anger, a desire for revenge, depression, fear, and hopelessness.
"What would the world be like if everyone
loved themselves and what they did?"
My life has been guided by a question I wrote in my journal when I was 14 years old, "What would the world be like if everyone loved themselves and what they did?"
Personally, throughout my almost 70 years, I have experienced many great joys and heartbreaks - both big and small, as I imagine you have. You are possibly in the midst of a heartbreak right now.
"...my tasks are to share the wisdom of my experience;
and to be a Mighty Expression of Love in the World."
As I prepared for a ceremony marking my passage into Elder-hood, in 2014, I spent more than a year exploring, with great curiosity, what being an Elder means to me. After much contemplation, reflection, and deep listening it became clear. As an Elder I Am a GodMother and my tasks are to share the wisdom of my experience; and to be a Mighty Expression of Love in the World.
"A healed heart is an open heart."
With this clarity my next question was, How do I do this? The answer was quite simple: sharing Heart Healing Wisdom. In the words of Marianne Williamson,
For all the darkness in the world
stems from darkness in the heart.
And it is there that we must
do our work.
So, I begin this new blog today with a question I asked myself, What is Heart Healing? The answer was immediate, A healed heart is an open heart.
"...what about emotional and spiritual heart attacks?"
It’s common when we hear the words heart attack. to focus our attention on our physical heart - when over time plaque buildup causes the inside of the arteries to narrow and partially or totally block the life-giving flow of blood. But, what about emotional and spiritual heart attacks?
"When the flow of Love is constrained,
our hearts close and we are broken."
Most of us are walking around with wounded hearts from abuse, hurts, betrayals, regrets, resentments, and anger attached to wounds of the past. Each of these unhealed wounds - more importantly, the beliefs we have about them - constrict the flow of Love in our life. When the flow of Love is constrained, our hearts close and we are broken.
"I easily let go of my attachment to thoughts and
behaviors that block the in-flow and out-flow of Love in my life."
Today, I invite you to join me on a heart healing journey, starting with prayer that I encourage you to say aloud (allowed) while looking at yourself in a mirror until every cell in your body responds with a resounding, YES:
Prayer for Wholehearted Living From, The Whole-Hearted Life
Today I live a whole-hearted life. I easily let go of my attachment to
thoughts and behaviors that block the in-flow and out-flow of Love
in my life. I know my purpose is to be a mighty expression of Love in the world through
expressing and generously offering my unique gifts, talents, and skills
for the highest good for ALL. I trust that every experience I have is an opportunity
to deepen and expand my capacity to be, give, and receive Love.
I ask for and receive all help available to me, visible and invisible, to easily and
effortlessly learn from and release habit patterns of fear, blame, and separation,
have faith in a Loving future, and live fully and wholeheartedly in the
For the eternal peace and happiness for all.
And, so it is…
‘Til next time….
